This customer’s 217,000 square foot facility provides printing and mailing services for the mutual fund industry on a continuous production basis, including occasional 24-hour periods where work is being performed and lighting cannot be turned off.
For years, this facility was illuminated with 4-lamp T5 fluorescent fixtures that consumed more energy and required more maintenance than the customer desired. Facing a widespread re-lamping of the existing T5 fixture installation, MC Realty weighed the costs of the project versus investing in an LED retrofit solution.
Through an energy audit with Facilities Solutions Group (FSG) and consideration of several solutions, Flex Lighting Solutions and Industrial fixtures were selected to improve foot-candle levels in aisles and open areas while providing more precise task-lighting in key work areas. Due to the widespread distribution of fixtures, the customer was able to utilize 545 Flex Lighting Solutions fixtures as compared to the 864 previously installed T5 fixtures.
